Rajasthan wrestler Sukha bags Dera Kesari title

JAMMU, April 13: Pahalwan Sukha of Rajasthan bagged 21st Dera Kesari dangal title outplaying Kalu of Jammu in a tough main bout played at Dera Baba Banda Bahadur in district Reasi. Dangal was organized by Dera Baba Banda Bahadur Parbandhak Committee, under the aegis of J&K Indian Style Wrestling Association.
Additional District Development Commissioner, Reasi Tara Singh was chief guest who distributed prizes among the winners. President of Indian Style Wrestling Association of J&K, Shiv Kumar Sharma presided over the function. Senior vice-president of Hotel and Restaurant Association Katra, Rakesh Wazir was guest of honour.
Chief guest gave away Rs 4,000 cash prize to winner, Sukha while runners-up, Kalu got Rs 3,000 as prize money. In all, 31 bouts were played in the Dangal.
The second main bout was won by Bobari of Shiv Mandir Akhara Jammu who beat Swarn Singh of Kot Bhawal while third bout went to Atter Din of Jammu after he downed Hardeep of Rajasthan.
Other Results: Kuldeep of Narkot beat Saif Ali of Panthal, Karnail Singh of Batate beat Gurdev Singh of Devigarh, Kuldip Singh of Reasi beat Nagesh of Dera, Pritam Singh of Kot Bhawal beat Billa of Reasi, Amir Khan of Nargada beat Puran Singh of Mohare, Tej Singh of Reasi beat Parsotam Singh of Kot Bhawal of Jammu, and Dalip Singh of Mohare beat Sarwan of Rajasthan.
Dera Baba Banda Bahadur Parbandhak Committee and technical officials who helped for the conduct of said Dangal were Baba Jatinder Paul Singh Sodhi, Malik Ram Lubhaya Paruthi (Chairman), Sant Kumar Juneja (president), VP Maker, Sanjay Kumar, Mohan Singh, Om Parkash Verma, Virender Sharma, Capt. Lehar Singh (Retd.) Master Ram Krishan, Mohd. Fareed, Vijay Singh (Viju) Hazi Kasam Din, Raj Kumar Pada and Ramnik Nowada.
